Over a century ago Virgilio Valobra established in Genoa, Italy his plant for the manufacture of soap. He was determined to adhere strictly to the formulas and methods of the master soap manufacturers of the 18th century. Those masters had made the Riviera between Portofino and Marseille a region renowned for the finest soap. To preserve the precious ingredients intact Valobra has always used the ancient and expensive "boiling for strength" method. In addition, special attention is given to seasoning, which takes at least six months. Almond Crema di Sapone (rich in almond oil) is an old-fashioned and simple shaving soap that gives a profuse and very creamy moisturizing lather. Slice or squeeze off a piece of the soap and build a lather with your brush in a bowl, in the palm or your hand, or directly on your face. Its consistency is somewhat like putty so you can form the entire bar inside your mug or inside an empty shaving cream jar or shaving soap bowl. Wet the beard with warm water, apply the wet shaving brush to the soap, lather up in the bowl and apply to the face. Wrapped in wax paper and packed in a cardboard box measuring 4-1/8" long x 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/2" tall. 5.2oz/150g. $10.00 |
