The design of the Merkur 38 Black Heavy Duty Long Handle safety razor is based on an American barber pole. It combines the best features of Merkur’s top selling Classic Heavy Duty and Classic Long Handle. The knob at the base of the handle of this two-piece razor with long-screw mounting is turned to unscrew the top plate for loading the blade. Its larger, heavier black handle measures 3-3/4” long x ½” diameter. The non-adjustable head measures 1-5/8” long x 1” wide. and available only in Straight Edge (often called Safety Bar).
