The tallow-based, paraben-free puck is based on a recipe from the turn of the century that incorporates lanolin from wool fat as the key ingredient. It was realized that lanolin, which kept the hands of sheep shearers and wool sorters so exceptionally soft, could also be beneficial to delicate complexions and sensitive skins. The soap features a fine fougere (fern-like) fragrance based around Patchouli, enhanced with extracts of Lavender, Pine and Clove on a spicy base of Nutmeg, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Musk. Properly applied with a good quality shaving brush, the resulting lather is thick and profuse, with superb lubrication.
