The design of the Merkur 47C Engine Turned Long Handle safety razor seems to be a variant of their classic "Barber Pole" #38 models. It combines the best features of Merkur’s top selling Classic Heavy Duty #34C and Classic Long Handle #23C. The handle of this three-piece razor with short-screw mounting is turned to unscrew the top plates for loading the blade. Its larger, heavier handle measures approximately 3-3/4” long x 7/16” diameter, and has a secure-grip pattern of raised lines and stunning tiny half diamonds. Its non-adjustable straight-edge head measures 1-5/8”  long x 1” wide. Overall length of the engine turned long handle is 4", and it weighs a hefty 3.2 ounces. Uses any double edge blade.
