APO stands for "Army Post Office," and is associated with US Army or Air Force installations. FPO stands for "Fleet Post Office," and is associated with US Navy installations and ships in the United States.
With the establishment of the Overseas Military Mail program, two Armed Forces Cities (APO, FPO) and three Military States (AA, AE, AP) were created, along with a specific set of zip codes for each Military State.
AA = recipient is stationed in the Americas (USPS processing facility is located in Miami, FL); AE = recipient is stationed in Europe, Canada, Africa, or the Middle East (USPS processing facility is located in New York, NY); AP = recipient is stationed in Asia or the Pacific (USPS processing facility is located in San Francisco, CA).
Regardless of where the recipient is stationed, select "United States" from the Country drop-down menu.
Orders to overseas members of the armed services are charged DOMESTIC Priority Mail rates based on the APO/FPO zip code. The United States Post Office delivers APO and FPO mail to a military port, located on the East or West Coast of the United States, and the military takes over from there, transporting the mail via military cargo aircraft to the overseas location/Navy ship.
On the Order Form, please follow these simple instructions when entering an APO or FPO address:
In the Your Shipping Address block enter the recipient's full name and complete APO or FPO address. In addition, since the Billing Address is normally different than the APO or FPO address, we must have the Bill To name and address as it appears on your credit card statement. There is plenty of room to enter all this information.
